A portfolio and print shop for a Magnum photographer, built to disappear behind the photographs.

Nikos Economopoulos is a Greek photographer and a full member of Magnum Photos since 1994. Born in Kalamata in 1953, he came to photography late, after law and journalism, and made his name with black-and-white documentary work across the Balkans, Greece, and Turkey, collected in his 1995 book In the Balkans. In recent years he has worked in color.
The hardest part of a site like this is restraint. We built it around the photographs, Series, On the Road, a print shop, and a bio, with every layout decision made to get out of the way, fast to load and quiet to read.
